NEC opens cloud operations center in Thailand
NEC Corporation (Thailand) Ltd. has launched a cloud operation center to remotely manage and monitor its secured cloud services from its office in Bangkok. Additionally, the company is also unveiling two software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications -- Trend Micro Worry-Free and Spontania VideoMeeting -- in Thailand via its Cloud marketplace.

Since April 2011, NEC Thailand has debuted cloud solutions and SaaS applications such as HR e-Attendance, CRM, accounting and groupware, to support the local business community using a more efficient cloud computing model. Benefits touted include reduced IT maintenance and support costs with no upfront investment by customers; scalable, non-stop operation; and a secure environment in the cloud data center.

The Worry-Free business security services, which are powered by Trend Micro's Smart Protection Network security infrastructure, detect and block the latest threats, viruses and dangerous websites whenever they emerge.

Spontania, meanwhile, is a group video web conferencing application that supports multiple devices in the same session over any type of network. It boasts superior-quality audio and video conferencing because it automatically checks and constantly adjusts users' video quality in accordance with the available networks.

"With the opening of our Cloud Operation Centre, we welcome visitors who are interested to learn more about Cloud services and solutions to pop by our office for a demonstration," said Hiroshi Sato, president of NEC Corporation (Thailand) Ltd.
